Carmarthen County Council has been forced to disclose that council taxpayers had to fork out around £27,000 for lawyers in connection with the Audit Office reports which stated that the council acted unlawfully in relation to a legal cost indemnity and pension arrangements.

Plaid Councillor Darren Price extracted the admission from the Labour Leadership of the authority. The popular Plaid Councillor asked,: "Can the leader announce how much money was paid to Timothy Kerr QC with regard to his advice to the county council on the matter of the pension paymenthttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png and the indemnity to the chief executive including any costs incurred in light of the leader's promise to disclose that when Mr Kerr's and the WAO's work was concluded?"

Meanwhile Labour county councillors are threatening to take to court pensioners who put out their rubbish bins too early.
